RSPB (Fisher's Mill) - Quail still calling in corn field. Also 3 Little Egret (TP) RSPB (Bassett South) - 3 Dunlin, 8 LRP, Common Sandpiper, 4 Redshank New Reedbed Pool (TP) Middleton - 3 Green Sandpiper, Teal Hall Lake (TP)
Tom, the female mandarin reported sevreral times from the hides at Kingsbury was there again today Thurs. but comparing my poor Phto with the Birds of the W.Palearctic noting the reddish bill with slight downturned tip the slight crest and light vent area along with the diagonal markings (top to bottom) I think it may be an eclipse male rather than a female
