30th March - Sightings

Mediterranean Gull - Mark Priest

RSPB - Mealy Redpoll still on feeders + 7 Lesser Redpoll, Brambling (A Archer, TP, M Priest et al) 2 Avocet Jubilee Wetlands commuting to North Pit all day. 1+ Mediterranean Gull(ad) again North Pit. Also 5+ Little Ringed Plover, 4 Ringed Plover, 2 Dunlin, 5 Oystercatcher, 10 Redshank, 15 Ruff (until early evening only), White Wagtail, 2 Common Gull (ads), Herring Gull (1st Sum), Great-Black-backed Gull (1st Sum) (K Thorpe, A Archer, M Yapp, K Donaghy, TP et al)

One of the Avocets has a white ring with letters. If anyone got any good shots of it then it would be nice to know where it came from or is going to. Thanks Steve Pick for heads up.

RSPB - possible Slavonian Grebe Jubilee Wetlands this evening (S Pick) Photographs taken are not conclusive but certainly suggestive of this id. Hopefully be there tomorrow. Also Ringed Plover, Redshank, Dunlin today (G Williams et al)

RSPB - Peregrine (G A Williams)  Goosander, 2 Ringed Plover, 2 Redshank Jubilee Wetlands.7 Goosander (all female), 7 Little Egret  North  Pit. At Fishers Mill  4,500 starling displaying for half an hour before eventually going down into silt pool reeds at dusk (S Pick) .
