Great-White Egret - Dave Hutton

RSPB - Great-White Egret Hall Lake and Heronry today (Many Obs) Short-Eared Owl, Barn Owl on reserve (P Casey) Peregrine, 13 Ringed Plover, 60+ Golden Plover, 2 Stonechat (G Williams) The count of Ringed Plover is very high for February. There have also been up to 18 at Branston GPs.

Late news of brief views of a Water Pipit on the Jubilee Wetlands East Scrape which then flew towards the North Pit on 26/2, and a probable Merlin flew through on 27/2. The drake Pochard/Tufted hybrid was again on Dosthill NR on 28/2 (G Williams)

Whooper Swan - Adam Archer

Alvecote - Whooper Swan still (J Morgan, A Archer) View west of Statfold Farm south of the B5493 one mile south west of Seckington. Also Whooper x Mute hybrid still Pretty Pigs Pool. Willow Tit Laundry Lane on feeders (A Archer)
RSPB - Great-White Egret Hall Lake 4.35-5.50pm then flew to roost. Short-Eared Owl between screens at dusk. 22 Goosander roosted. Also 10 Ringed Plover, 320 Golden Plover Jubilee Wetlands (S Atkinson, A Archer)
Ladywalk - Bittern, Siberian Chiffchaff,Short-Eared Owl, 3 Chiffchaff, 12 Goosander (Many Obs)

Roosting Great-White Egret and Egyptian Goose - Steve Pick

Alvecote - Whooper/Bewick's Swan in rape field NW of Pretty Pigs Pool (M Scott, R Smith) Reported as a Bewick's but pics appear to show a Whooper.
RSPB - Great-White Egret in Heronry roost. Egyptian Goose on west side of North Pit. 597 Golden Plover, 7 Ringed Plover, Dunlin, 2 Stonechat Jubilee Wetlands. 1750 Starling roosted Silt Pool (S Pick)
Ladywalk - Siberian Chiffchaff, 3 Chiffchaff, Bittern (H King)

24th February - Sightings

RSPB - 2 Dunlin, 11 Ringed Plover, 1200 Golden Plover, Water Rail, 7 Goosander 5 Shelduck, Barn Owl, 3 Stonechat, Peregrine around reserve. Short-Eared Owl Dosthill Main Pit 5:05 pm. 35 Little Egret roosted (S Atkinson, G Williams, S Pick) 2 Short-Eared Owl, Barn Owl 6pm between screens (per RSPB)
Ladywalk - Bittern, Willow Tit, Marsh Tit,  Lesser-Spotted Woodpecker, Siberian Chiffchaff, 2 Short-Eared Owl (S Cawthray, P Lichfield et al)

23rd February - Sightings

Kingsbury - Great-White Egret flew over Canal Pool 5.44pm towards Middleton presumably to roost (S Pick) Also Bittern reported Cliff Pool twice in last week (per S Cawthray)
RSPB - Short-Eared Owl over Fisher's Mill and Dosthill Main Pit (J Morgan) Green Sandpiper Dosthill (J Morgan)
Lea Marston - Short-Eared Owl from bridge (S Cawthray)
Shustoke - Mediterranean Gull(1st Win) again (S Cawthray)
Ladywalk - 2 Bittern still. Also Green Sandpiper, 4 Little Egret, Willow Tit, Marsh Tit, 20 Goosander (P Lichfield et al)
