7th May - Sightings

RSPB - Ruff, Greenshank, 3 Black-Tailed Godwit, 3 Dunlin, Common Sandpiper, 8 Ringed Plover,  Avocet + 4 young, Wigeon, Teal, Pochard, 2 Goosander, Water Rail, 4 Mediterranean Gull, Hobby, Barn Owl, 10+ Cettis Warbler, 5 Grasshoper Warbler, 3 Cuckoo (TP, S Pick, S Atkinson et al). 89 species recorded on the reserve today.
Ladywalk - Red Kite, Hobby, Peregrine, Barn Owl, Yellow Wagtail, Water Rail, Common Sandpiper, Ringed Plover, LRP, 3 Cuckoo,2 Grasshopper Warbler, 5 Wigeon,3 Goosander (P Sofley et al). 93 species recorded on the reserve today.

6th May - Sightings

Shustoke - 5 Black Tern mid evening at least. Also 2 Common Sandpiper (S Haynes et al)
Ladywalk - Garganey(m) "B" Pools (P Lichfield)
RSPB - Avocet + 3 young, Garganey(m), 3 Black-Tailed Godwit, 5 Dunlin, 4 Mediterranean Gull, Cuckoo, Yellow Wagtail Jubilee Wetlands (S Pick, TP)
Wishaw - Wheatear Wishaw Lane (C Hiles)

5th May - Sightings

Ruff - Peter Lichfield

RSPB - Greenshank, Garganey Jubilee Wetlands. Also 2 Cuckoo, Hobby, 2 Black-Tailed Godwit, 2 Ruff, Common Sandpiper (K Thorpe et al) Black-Necked Grebe North Pit and still this evening (per RSPB, S Pick)

Marsh Harrier - Karl Sargent

RSPB - Pied Flycatcher still Middleton Hall but generally elusive. No sign in 2 hours this evening (K Thorpe) Marsh Harrier flew over to West in morning (K Sargent) Also Black-Tailed Godwit, Common Sandpiper, Cuckoo, Snipe, 4 Med Gulls, 3+ reeling Grasshopper Warbler (S Atkinson et al)
Ladywalk - Garganey(m) still "B" Pools. Also Pochard, 3 Wigeon, 8 Teal, 4 Shoveler,4 Goosander, Spotted Flycatcher (P Sofley et al)
Wishaw - 2 Wheatear Wishaw Lane (C Hiles)
Kingsbury - Black-Tailed Godwit Cliff Pool (Bobby D)
Shustoke - Red Kite drifted southeast over east end 2.35 pm (R Williams)

RSPB - Pied Flycatcher (ringed 1st Sum male) singing near entrance to Middleton Hall this morning only (K Thorpe et al) Bittern showed well in flight late evening New Reedbed Pool (TP, J Allen, S Pick) Also 2 Whinchat(2m), 3 Wheatear, Cuckoo, 3 Dunlin, 2 Black-Tailed Godwit, Common Sandpiper, 6 Avocet, 4 Mediterranean Gull, Hobby, Yellow Wagtail on reserve. 5 Little Egret roosted (A Archer, TP et al)
Ladywalk - Garganey(m) "B" Pools. Also Dunlin, 2 Common Sandpiper, Ringed Plover, 2 LRP, 2 Little Egret (P Lichfield et al)
Wishaw - 3 Wheatear Wishaw Lane (C Hiles)  Observer has now seen 33 Wheatear in area this spring.

2nd May - Sightings

RSPB - Whimbrel for a short while mid-morning (S Atkinson et al) Black-Tailed Godwit early am only (S Pick) Also 5 Dunlin, 2 Ringed Plover, Common Sandpiper, 6 Avocet, 4 Mediterranean Gull (Many Obs)
