Ladywalk - 2 Siberian Chiffchaff still. Also 2 Sand Martin, 2 Chiffchaff,Pergrine, Redshank (J Harris)
Hams Hall - 3 Chiffchaff (J Harris)

12th March - Sightings

Ladywalk - Bittern (S Cawthray) Of interest the ringed Siberian Chiffchaff has been proved to have been ringed on the reserve at the beginning of the year (as a Chiffchaff) (per D Hutton)
Minworth - 150 Golden Plover Wishaw Lane (G A Williams)

11th March - Sightings

Tamworth - Stonechat(m) Coton Lane Sewage Works on railway line fence. Also 2 Chiffchaff, Green Sandpiper by river (per Staffs Birding)

10th March- Sightings

Minworth - Merlin(m), 100 Golden Plover Wishaw Lane (Cathy Taylor)
Dosthill(Warks) - 2 Long-Tailed Duck still. Also c40 Goldeneye in area (C Cook)

 

9th March - Sightings

Shustoke - 2 Kittiwake(ads) briefly 1.30pm then flew off to NW. Possibly the same two birds roosted (S Haynes)

Ladywalk - 2 Siberian Chiffchaff still (Many Obs)
RSPB - 2 Goosander, 5 Little Egret, 2 Oystercatcher, 80 Lapwing, 5 Ringed Plover, 3 Snipe, 2 Redshank, 3 Dunlin, 1 juv. Gt Black-backed Gull, 2 pair of Grey Partridge (G Williams)


Steve Cawthray is organising a Kingsbury work party on 13th March. "This is to clear the Islands and margins at both Cliff and Canal pools in order to make them suitable for breeding waders and terns that will be returning soon.

Meet at fishermens car park (10am) which is between Canal and Broomey croft pools .

If you have Scythes/Loppers/Rakes etc please bring along as well as wellies
